Located along the Pacific coastline of Santa Monica, Horizon House is a comprehensive transformation of an existing oceanfront residence. The project reconsiders the relationship between architecture, natural light, and the surrounding landscape, creating a home that responds to its setting with clarity and restraint.

The design reorganizes the interior around uninterrupted views of the Pacific, introducing a more intuitive spatial sequence and stronger visual connections throughout the residence. By refining circulation and removing unnecessary partitions, the living, dining, and private spaces are unified into a continuous living environment.

A restrained material palette of natural stone, textured plaster, refined metals, and warm neutral finishes provides a quiet backdrop for the changing qualities of daylight. Rather than becoming the focal point, the architecture frames the surrounding landscape, allowing the experience of the ocean to define the character of the home.

The project reflects FARNEAR DESIGN’s approach to contemporary residential design, where simplicity, spatial precision, and material integrity create environments that are both timeless and deeply connected to place.
