THE PALACE

This nearly 200-square-metre private residence in Shanghai is conceived as a fluid and unified living environment, where spatial boundaries are softened to enhance continuity and ease. An open-plan layout dissolves the separation between living, dining, and kitchen areas, allowing movement and light to circulate freely throughout the home.
Rooted in a quiet, enduring sense of refinement, the design draws from a nuanced “old-world” sensibility, interpreted through a contemporary lens. A restrained material palette and carefully selected finishes evoke a sense of permanence, while subtle references to Italian minimalism bring clarity and precision to the overall composition.
Deeper tonal layers introduce richness and depth, grounding the space in a calm and introspective atmosphere. Every element is considered with intention—balancing proportion, texture, and light to create a harmonious living experience.
More than a residence, the home becomes a setting for reflection and everyday ritual—where comfort, culture, and a quiet confidence are seamlessly intertwined.
